With the worldwide emphasis on becoming "greener," we were pleased to know that SAS Airlines has some innovative programs to help achieve this goal, including the fuel-saving green approaches, and the "intention to reduce climate-impacting emissions by 20% by the year 2020. They are replacing older planes, which will result in fuel savings of 30% - 35%, and will be one of the first airlines to use alternative fuels". Staying at the legendary 334 rooms and 42 suites built in 1874, the oldest hotel in Stockholm is like returning to a second home. We have stayed at the Grand Hotel Stockholm on many occasions whenever we are in Stockholm, and returning in May 2008, we enjoyed experiencing how this elegant grand dame hotel not one to rest on its laurels, still continues to dazzle. Service is excellent as one would expect, and with the new Michelin-star The Restaurant Mathias Dahlgren, there is yet another reason to stay at this luxury hotel.
